The basic idea of establishing Institute of Standards & Industrial Research of Iran (ISIRI) emerged upon the approval of "The Law ofWeights and Measures" in 1925. Following the approval of the bill to establish ISIRI in 1960, the Institute became operational within the framework of the specified functions and responsibilities and joined the International Organization for Standardization (ISO) in the same year.
In 2011, ISIRI status was set under the direct supervision of the President of the Islamic Republic of Iran as it has already been under the supervision of Minister of Industry, Mines and Commerce.
ISIRI has so far developed some 23000 National Standards mainly in the following fields:

Dealing with 40 violators of Isfahan in the 13th meeting of the Legal Commission of Article 42 of the Isfahan Standard
20222/08/31: The 13th meeting of the Legal Commission of Article 42 of the Law on Strengthening and Development of the Standard System and the fifth meeting this year was held in the presence of the director general of standards of the province, the deputy prosecutor of Isfahan, the representative of the Chamber of Guilds, etc.
Leila Amin Al-Raaya, the secretary of the Isfahan Standard Article 42 Commission, announced this news and added: In this meeting, a total of 40 cases related to the offending production units were raised.
The head of Isfahan Standard Legal Department stated: In this commission, 1 case of food industry, 9 cases of building materials and construction industry, 1 case of electrical and electronic industry, 28 cases related to artificial gold products and 1 case of household appliances industry related to licensed production units. And the standard approval, but with a lower quality than the standard and with discrepancies and practical and critical non-compliance, was dealt with.
The secretary of the Article 42 Commission said: In this meeting, the violators, based on paragraph 10 of the procedure for holding the commission's meetings, will be warned and issued orders, warned and required to undertake and suspend the code of a production unit for three months and a fine of fifty million to one billion. and two hundred million Rials were sentenced, it is worth mentioning that some of the cash crimes were suspended for a certain period (3 months) and the total fine of the production units is seven billion eight hundred million Rials, of which one billion nine hundred and seventy million Rials It was suspended.
It should be mentioned that the Article 42 Commission, with the composition of the members specified in the Law on Strengthening and Development of the Standard System, is formed according to the case and deals with the violations specified in this law, and taking into account the conditions and possibilities of the violation and the frequency of violations, in case of conviction, the degrees refers to the competent judicial authority. And in other cases, the commission's approvals include reminders and warnings, obtaining commitments, fines commensurate with violations, collecting products from the market, requiring improvements and corrections, selling confiscated products, destroying goods, and closing down production or service units.
